Yes! Our Lash Lift and Brow Laminations services are safe, long-lasting, and low maintenance treatments that yield transformative results and a beautiful pick-me-up for the entire eye area.  Most people are able to receive these treatments safely and effectively.

There are some precautions and contraindications to note, however, in order to ensure you are an ideal candidate for receiving our Lash Lift and Brow Lamination services at this time. Please see below for details.

There are a few precautions and contraindications for receiving lash lifts and brow laminations. Full disclosure on your part will enable us to avoid any situations that would compromise a safe and effective treatment, and will help ensure beautiful results.

LASH LIFT
Precautions & Conditional Contraindications

• Lash growth serum (discontinue use 24 hours prior to treatment)
• Use of antibiotics (may increase skin sensitivity)
• Contact lenses (must be removed during treatment)
• Currently under the care of a physician for an eye condition or body illness (doctor's note required)
• Permanent makeup in the eye area (must wait 4 weeks)
• Eye Surgery (must wait 6 months)
• Use of Accutane (must be off for a minimum of 6 months)

Absolute Contraindications:

• Very sparse lashes (not a candidate; the treatment will not be effective)
• Very short lashes (the treatment will not be effective; we recommend using Revitalash Advanced lash enhancer for 8-12 weeks to enhance length, fullness, and thickness of your natural lashes prior to receiving treatment)
• Redness, irritation, or inflammation in the eye area (must be healed)
• Allergy, intolerance, or previous adverse reaction to hair dye, tinting products, or color ingredients
• Allergy, intolerance, or previous adverse reaction to perm solution or neutralizer
• Allergy, intolerance, or previous adverse reaction to chemicals, fragrances, or odors
• Allergy, intolerance, or previous adverse reaction to adhesives or glues (such as swelling, itching, or burning of the eyes or eyelids)
• Active seasonal allergies creating watery or puffy eyes
• Pink Eye
• Stye
• Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids; must be healed)
• Madarosis or Milphosis (hair loss of lashes or brows)
• Trichiasis (abnormally positioned eyelashes)
• Trichotillomania (uncontrollable plucking of hair or lashes)
• Current use of hydrocortisone around the eye area
• Cancer, chemotherapy, or radiation treatment
• Use of blood thinners or anticoagulants
• Any infectious disease

BROW LAMINATION
Precautions & Conditional Contraindications

• Very short brows (case-by-case basis to ensure an effective treatment & satisfactory results)
• Use of antibiotics (may increase skin sensitivity)
• Use of brow growth serum (discontinue use 24 hours prior)
• AHA/BHA cleansers & topicals (discontinue use 3 days prior)
• Use of non-prescription keratolytics/vitamin A topicals (discontinue 5 days prior)
• Use of prescription keratolytics/vitamin A topicals (discontinue 1 week prior)
• Facial waxing (must wait 1 week; brow waxing may be performed during treatment)
• Very dry or flaky skin (skin may be sensitive; need to resolve excessive dryness or flakiness prior to treatment)
• Botox or dermal fillers (must wait 2 weeks)
• Recent sun exposure or use of tanning bed (must wait 2 weeks)
• Recent chemical peel, microneedling, laser treatment, or exfoliating treatment (must wait 2-4 weeks, depending on intensity of treatment)
• Currently under the care of a physician for an eye condition or body illness (doctor's note required)
• Recent tattoos, permanent eye makeup, or microblading in the brow area (must wait 4 weeks)

Absolute Contraindications:

• Allergy, intolerance, or previous adverse reaction to hair dye, tinting products, or color ingredients
• Allergy, intolerance, or previous adverse reaction to perm solution or neutralizer
• Allergy, intolerance, or previous adverse reaction to chemicals, fragrances, or odors
• Active seasonal allergies creating watery or puffy eyes
• Active acne breakouts or open wounds in the brow area (must be healed)
• Hormone or thyroid condition causing hair loss
• Drug allergies
• Autoimmune disease (doctor's note required)
• Medications for diabetes or lupus
• Cancer, chemotherapy, or radiation treatment
• History of hypertrophic scarring
• Current use of hydrocortisone around the eye area
• Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids; must be healed)
• Madarosis or Milphosis (hair loss of lashes or brows)
• Pink Eye
• Stye
• Use of blood thinners or anticoagulants
• Any infectious disease

We recommend receiving lash lift & brow lamination services every 6 weeks on average, but you may choose to come in as early as four weeks or wait as long as eight weeks, depending on how quickly your lashes and brows work through their natural hair growth cycle.

NOTE: Lash and brow tints will last approximately 4 weeks, and will continue to fade gradually until color has returned to normal.

For lashes, the look of color may be maintained with the use of mascara, and for brows, an eyebrow pencil or brow mousse may be used to maintain color in between appointment sessions (if desired).

You will receive treatment reminders to note and follow as well as a list of contraindications prior to each Lash Lift and/or Brow Lamination service. Please review these items to ensure you are free from any specific conditions that would prevent you from receiving treatment. We will also review these at the time of your appointment. Abiding by these guidelines will help ensure a safe and effective treatment.

In addition, following all post-care instructions will help provide nourishment for your lashes and brows, and will extend the results of your lash and brow services.

Pre-Treatment Reminders:

• Do not use mascara or wear eye makeup on the day of your appointment.
• Arrive to your appointment with clean, dry lashes and brows.
• If you wear contacts, bring a lens case with you so you can remove your lenses prior to your appointment.

 
24-48 Hours Post-Treatment:

• Keep your eyes dry and avoid water, steam, and sweat for 24-48 hours after your appointment to allow your lashes and/or brows to fully cure.
• Avoid sleeping on your lashes for the first 24 hours while your lashes are setting. Our anti-wrinkle pillowiette is a great option to avoid the mashing of your lashes during sleep.
• Avoid using any type of mascara for 24-48 hours post-treatment.

 
Post-Treatment Maintenance:

• Use Styling Gel daily to protect, condition, and prolong the results of your lash and brow services.
• Avoid using oil-based products on your eye area. This includes touching your lashes, as your fingers contain oils that can lessen the effect of your lash and brow services.
• Use a lash wand to brush or comb your lashes and brows as needed.
• Avoid using waterproof mascara.
• For longer lasting results, maintain the condition and health of your lashes and brows daily.

These products will help extend the life of your services, and will help keep lashes and brows strong and healthy while receiving lash & brow services.

• Styling Gel: A must-have for protecting, conditioning, moisturizing, and providing a flexible hold to maintain the shape of your newly styled lashes and brows. Use daily to extend the results of your treatments.
• Blinc Mascara: This is an advanced "tubing" mascara with a clean, oil-free formula and fantastic staying power. It will not smudge or smear like a traditional mascara, and it is easy to remove with water and pressure.
• Revitalash Advanced Lash Enhancer or Brow Enhancer: These iconic formulas will help your lashes & brows grow thicker, longer, stronger, and fuller, fully amping the results of your services and nourishing your lashes and brows between treatments.
